KINGS PAMONA

A SHORT EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO WORK created on Pamona Island, an area in the midst of development (MANCTOPIA!) on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre, an area known by bird watchers, loiterers and ‘boy’ racers. We filmed KINGS PAMONA to experiment with what it would mean to use the KINGS movement and story we created with Michael for the KINGS performance, working together to tease out some parts of the story we could reapply to this wasteland space in a state of transition. It was a challenging space in the middle of winter, you can see Michael’s breath! We wanted to capture this space as it is now and we hope this work speaks to something bigger about ownership of space, visibility, sensitivity and vulnerability in relation to identity and how we inhabit our urban spaces.
