SO FEY

SO FEY (2017) WAS A VISUAL AND CHOREOGRAPHIC PROJECT + ACTS AS A MODERN DAY ARCHIVE OF FIRST GENERATION DUAL HERITAGE EXPERIENCE IN THE UK.

A collaboration with Henrietta Fusi, Nisa Cole + Lucie Browne. With live sound design by Vitalija Glovackyte and live Visual projection collaboration with Joe Whitmore . Programmed as part of CO:LAB Festival at the Royal exchange theatre: 2017.

Sensations of exotic otherness are placed in focus and immersed within a DIY multimedia environment, overlapping imagery and live sound exploring our shared experiences as dual heritage young women with a collective ancestry of African, Caribbean, Northern England and Irish heritage. We highlighted the assumptions, micro-agressions and beauty of our black bodies and the questions we live with, as we headed towards 2020 when it was claimed that the mixed 'category' would be the biggest minority in the UK!

Co:LAB platformed the work as a sharing of this process-led piece created through workshops with collaborating artists.
